don't just plan a wedding
PLAN YOUR WEDDING
Your memories are our success.
You're never going to forget your wedding, and your entertainment plays a big part in that. While every gig is important, our weddings receive our highest levels of client service, attention to detail, professionalism, and performance. We're the wedding "vendor" (again, we hate that word) that has the opportunity to get to know you the best, and it's an opportunity that we always like to take full advantage of. Our approach to weddings is hands-on and centered around a super simple set of guiding principles.
Music is the most personal thing there is.
Your wedding day is the most personal day of your life.
Therefore, your wedding day music is incredibly special & important.
The people providing your wedding music should get to know you and take the above seriously.
Don't get it twisted, though... Just because we take this stuff seriously doesn't mean we're too buttoned-up to know how to party. Because we certainly do. Just ask our past couples. While being fully tailored to your exact specifications, all wedding packages include:

-
"Get-To-Know-You" & Planning Kick-off Meeting to talk about your specific vision and details

-
Personalized live band setlist and digital playlists for ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and set breaks

-
Option for full-day music and A/V coordination (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception)

-
MC services for introductions, speeches, announcements, etc.

Do we get to pick our own setlist? You absolutely do! We send you our extensive high-energy song list during the planning stages and you can pick any of the songs we've got on there. It's a long list that includes 150+ hit songs from the 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's, 10's, and 20's on it, so you'll have plenty to choose from and be able to add music that all of your guests will be able to enjoy!
-
What about songs that aren't on your list?We will learn 2-3 new live songs for your special day. If there are any must-haves that we don't play or aren't suitable for a live band, no worries! We'll fold those into your set break playlists. Just in case you reeeeally need "Sandstorm" and/or "Teach Me How to Dougie.
-
Will you take requests?Unlike at our public shows, at weddings we generally don't take requests from your guests. We want to play the playlist that you selected and that features the songs that you chose. If a guest has a song request and we know how to play it, we'll usually have them check with you before we go off-script.
-
How big is the band?We go out with a band of five all-star players: -Male vocals & rhythm guitar -Female vocals -Drums -Bass -Lead Guitar
-
Can our ceremony and cocktail hour have live music as well?Absolutely they can! Bring that up during our initial conversation and we will build it into your package. In addition to the fully plugged-in band, we can do solo, duo, and trio setups for other parts of the day as well.
-
Can you be our MC?We got you. We can MC the whole event for you, from introductions to specialty dances, speeches, cake cutting, announcements, etc. If it involves a microphone, we've got you covered all the way.
-
How long will you play at our wedding? All wedding packages are based around a four-hour reception that begins when cocktail hour is over and includes introductions, speeches, dinner, and the dance party. We usually end up playing for ~2-3 hours (depending on how long dinner & speeches run) which typically equates to ~35-40 songs. If you think your reception is going to be longer than four hours, just let us know and we can strategize!
-
Can we come see you guys play live?We will be sad if you don't. While our videos are great, we think the best way to get a feel for who we are as a band is to come and check out our one-of-a-kind shows. And we love taking care of our wedding couples and their squads. Depending on where the show is, we might even be able to get you onto our VIP guest list for the night and help you skip any line and cover charge at the venue.
-
Do you take care of sound and up-lighting?You bet! Our wedding day team consists of not just the five-piece live band, but a professional A/V tech to make sure that the sound quality is absolutely perfect for your dancefloor to be elite all night long. We bring in all of our own equipment and then pack it up and take it with us when the night is over. No extra rentals, no hassles.
-
What do you need for electricity? We ask for three dedicated 110-volt (20 amp) circuits to run our stage set-up. For outdoor venues, we prefer a 6000w generator that’s situated no further than 20 feet from the performance area. We do not own our own generator.
-
What about parking spaces and meals?Parking: We travel with at least 6 vehicles depending on the services you want (at least 5 musicians + 1 A/V tech). We all live in different areas and we bring in a lot of equipment. Meals: We require hot meals for all members of our team and we politely ask that our crew is served at the beginning of the dinner service. This way, we will be done with our meals before your guests and we will be able to start the dance party as soon as dinner is done!
-
Do we need to rent you a stage?Stages are cool, but not mandatory. We do require a level & hard surface to perform on that is covered from sun and the elements. In a perfect world, our five-piece band has at least a dedicated 12' deep by 18' wide space, but there's some wiggle room on that. But if you want a stage, lets do it!
-
Do you charge an extra fee for...Nope, we leave hidden fees to the airlines. We believe in being transparent and straightforward with you, and so your quoted price will be all-inclusive of the things that you request and need for your big day.
-
Do you ever use substitute musicians? We really try not to, especially when it comes to our male & female lead vocalists. But things come up and sometimes we need to have substitute players so that the show can go on. If we do need a substitute musician, we only partner with musicians that we believe meet our standard for being in the band. You won't be getting a "JV" musician by any means, just another awesome musician that just doesn't play with us full-time.
-
What do you wear on stage? We settle on that in coordination with you leading up to the event so that we can match the vibe that you are going for. You can rest assured that we're not going to show up dressed like we're going to Warped Tour (unless that's what you want us to do, of course).

The One Night Stands absolutely crushed it at our wedding. Joe seamlessly went from acoustic guitar during the ceremony to guitar & vocals at cocktail hour, and then the band delivered an unforgettable time on the dance floor at the reception.
Not to mention the planning process was as smooth as it gets due to their attention to detail and professionalism. If you work with Joe & the Stands, you can expect an outstanding performance, stress-free coordination, and that you will likely pick up a new friend in the process. Thanks again Joe & The Stands!
